Vasti Jackson, 1977 McComb High School Graduate, speaks to McComb High School, McComb High School Business and Technology Complex and Denman Junior High School Scholars

Vasti Jackson was inducted to the McComb School District Hall of Fame in 2018. Jackson is an American electric blues guitarist, singer, songwriter and record produces.

Vasti has been the musical director and guitarist for Z. Z. Hill, Johnnie Taylor, Denise LaSalle, Little Milton, Bobby Bland, and Katie Webster. He has also worked with those involved in gospel music, including the Williams Brothers, the Jackson Southernaires, and Daryl Coley.
In the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, Jackson's album, The Soul of Jimmie Rodgers, won the Best Traditional Blues Album category.

Keeping STEM alive in the McComb School District!

STEM mentor, Dr. K. Renee Horton, meets with Dr. Cederick Ellis to discuss promoting STEM within the McComb School District for the second consecutive year.

Dr. Horton is a native of Baton Rouge and is a graduate of Louisiana State University, holding a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Math. She obtained her Ph.D. in Material Science with a concentration in Physics from the University of Alabama. She is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM. She is the founder of Unapologetically Being, Inc., a nonprofit for advocacy and inclusion in STEM. She is a motivational speaker and a role model for young adults.
Dr. Horton visited McComb High School to speak with Denman Junior High Scholars and McComb High School Scholars. Horton discussed STEM careers, goal setting, opportunities, and dreams.
