School districts need strong community support to deliver quality education. That support relies on community members being informed about and engaged in the activities of schools and students on a continuous basis.

The School/Community Relations Office seeks to unite the District with the community by engaging in outreach efforts that promote communication, foster understanding and address the needs of the area.

The office is committed to providing accurate, timely information about McComb School District programs, services, news and developments. In addition, the office promotes community engagement by linking district employees and students to service opportunities.


  • Community Forums on topics of interest
  • Superintendent’s Advisory Committee
  • District newsletter to community, The NewsLine
  • School Board information
  • Welcome packets for new residents and business recruitment
  • Presentations to service clubs, PTA, colleges, etc.
  • Contacts with churches, day cares, legislators
  • Annual Arts Festival
  • Activity passes for senior citizens


  • Quarterly employee newsletter
  • Publication design, audio-visual projects, photographs and logos
  • Assistance with student and staff awards, special events as well as fundraising
  • Assistance with news media, advertising, and public relations
  • Crisis planning, surveys and websites
  • Serve on school and community committees
  • Annual Education Celebration – District wide Staff Development
  • Annual Christmas Staff Development Event


If you are 65 or older, you can receive a FREE activity pass for admission to all McComb School District sporting events and activities. The activity pass does not include admission to tournament events. Pick up your activity pass at the McComb School District’s Administration Building located at 695 Minnesota Avenue here in McComb. Our students and teams love it when you come out and support them, so pick up your activities pass and support our Tigers!

The School and Community Relations Department also supports the Superintendent’s Community Relations efforts through a variety of advisory committees including the following:

  • Board Business Advisory Committee
  • Teacher of the Year Advisory Committee
  • Student Advisory Committee
