Hello parents and guardians. Here I am with my weekly updates to you. Want to say first of all, as I always say, I want you to remain safe. I'm saying remain safe because as we look across the state of Mississippi, even as we looking across our nation, coronavirus, cases, COVID-19, is running rampant. We are not out of the water. I want I want all of the scholars, our, all of our parents, our, all of our community members, in the McComb area, even in the state of Mississippi and nationwide to remain safe, so please, when you go out make sure that you practice the social distancing guidelines that the Mississippi State Department of Health ask asks us to do and also whenever possible, wear a mask. We want you to be safe. Last week was the last week we provided meals. We provided 3,411 meals last week. We are grateful that we were able to provide those meals during the time that school and also during the summer. So we're very thankful that we were able to provide those meals to children. I want to talk with you about registration. We thought that we needed to make registration a little bit longer so registration will occur July 13th, 2020, until July 30th, 2020. Again, that's July 13th, 2020, to July 30th, 2020. We wanted to make sure that we have enough time to accommodate all parents and guardians. Please check our website and our Facebook page tomorrow. We will have guidelines on registration, whether registration will occur registration. That registration will occur Monday and Wednesday from 7:00 to 3:00 and Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 6:00. It will be at each school's cafeteria but I know that you may not remember this so we will be posting something on our Facebook page, we'll be posting something on our District web page, on our Twitter page and you will receive call outs regarding registration. So please make sure that you look at those pieces tomorrow. We'll be posting that information. We want every parent who can to register their children online. Again, you'll need an ActiveParent account. If you have forgotten your ActiveParent account, please call the school and they will be able to help you out. help you out. Also want to talk with you about our return to school. We are planning to return to school in August. We're in the process of making plans. We have surveyed parents and guardians. We have those results of the survey back and what we're going to do with that we're going to begin to discuss with you what the opening of school will look like, parents and guardians. We will have a parent and community meeting the week of July 13, so during that week we will have a series, a series of parent and community meetings to let you know what our intentions are for the return of school. As we return to school our major concern, our major concern, is to make sure every scholar is safe and make sure every adult who enters the building, those who are providing services for children, teacher's, assistant teachers, cafeteria workers, and all of those individuals, we want to make sure that they are safe. So we will be meeting with parents and guardians the week of July 13th to let you know what we have planned for the next school year. I want you to remain safe until we meet again. I will be back next week with my weekly update. Remain safe. Again, practice those social distancing guidelines those social distancing guidelines, wear your mask, and adhere to the guidelines that the Mississippi State Department of Health are giving us.
