Out of District Transfers

In order to comply with Section δ37-6-3 of the Mississippi Code, the McComb School District is hereby notifying all parents of out-of-district students that the following procedures regarding transfers will be strictly enforced:
  • Parents or guardians of students living outside the McComb School District must petition, in writing, their home school district for a legal transfer into the McComb School District. (Instructional or certificated employees included.)

  • Parents or guardians of students living outside the McComb School District must petition, in writing, the McComb School District Board of Trustees requesting that their child be legally transferred into the McComb School District. This procedure must be followed each school year. (Instructional or certificated employees included.)

  • Students living outside the McComb School District must have written approval of the Board of Trustees of their home school district and the McComb School Board of Trustees before the student will be allowed to register into the McComb School District. Any legal guardianship formed for the sole purpose of establishing residence for school district attendance purpose will not be recognized by the McComb School Board.

  • All parents or guardians must register their out-of-district students at the Instructional Services Center, located at 695 Minnesota Avenue, McComb, and complete an updated registration form after Board approval is granted. This includes students who have attended the McComb Schools in the past, as well as new students to the district. This must be done prior to August.

  • It is the responsibility of the parents or guardians to request the necessary transfer permission from the home school district each year in order to allow continued enrollment of the student in the McComb School District.

  • An annual administrative fee of $250.00 per year for the first child and $100.00 per year for each additional child will be charged to all transfer students. No credit toward tuition will be given for McComb School District taxes paid by the parent or guardian of students transferred into the McComb School District. Full tuition is due upon registration.

  • Transportation of all transfer students will be provided by their parent or guardian.Special bus requests to transport transfer students from established stops within the school district will be considered on an individual basis and subject to established special request guidelines.

  • Students’ behavior will be considered when receiving out-of-district transfers, as well as continued educational services within McComb School District. McComb School District may revoke attendance of out-of-district students for discipline problems or any other behaviors deemed inappropriate.

  • The McComb School District will neither request nor agree to send any portion of local maintenance funds in support of any transfer student.
