Readmission and Denial of Admission
A student who has been expelled from the McComb School District must request in writing to be approved for readmission
to the regular school program. The request for readmission shall be in writing and addressed to the superintendent for such
purpose.
A student who has been denied admission based on a pending or current expulsion may be approved for readmission to the district
by the board according to the procedures in this policy:
I. TIME FOR READMISSION (Applicable to expulsions from this district only)
a. If the expulsion was for a specified period of time, request for readmission
should be made at least two (2) weeks before the conclusion of the expulsion period.
b. If the expulsion was for an unspecified period of time, request for readmission
may be made at any time after one year from the date of expulsion.
c. When the student is enrolled in another regular school program or participating
in an alternative school or similar program during the expulsion period and at the time of request, the
request may be made at any time after the conclusion of specified expulsion period or after one year from the
date of expulsion.
II. PROCEDURES
The procedures set forth in Policy JDE shall apply to request for readmission.
III STANDARD FOR READMISSION/ADMISSION
The board may grant readmission or admission upon a documented showing that the student
has participated in successful rehabilitative efforts including, but not limited to, progress in an alternative
school, counseling, or similar program.
